Visit with Richard

While in Manitoba the girls and I went to visit their Uncle Richard (Robin's brother...just in case you can't tell from the pics...lol).  The girls had a great time swimming in the pool and playing with Chloe.  I know that Robin would love to have been at this visit because he would have been very interested in hearing all about how Richard put in the new pool complete with salt water and heater.  After all the work that Robin did with our backyard last year I know that he would have found it very interesting.  Now we know who to call for advice if we ever decide to invest in a bigger pool.

Hanging in the Hometown

When we come to Manitoba most days are usually crazy busy but sometimes we get some leisurely ones where we can just take a nice little walk to the park, get some slushies, stop for a rest by the river and then head on home and that is just what we did this day.

The "real" family reunion!

As nice it was to see all the Selkirks, a lot of whom I had not seen in a while  the best reunion for me was the one that happened on Friday night with me and my cousins.  This is how it went down...

It all started because mom made me this awesomely fancy Red Solo cup.

Stealing wood from Uncle Geordie's wood pile and trying hard to keep it even...lol.

Our crazy driver!

The drunks in the back.

And the drunks in the box.

We had to take out party down to the beach after Unlce Richie kicked us out of his yard.
Quote of the evening delivered by Derek to Richie..."When did you stop being so fun?"
Or maybe Robert Selkirk's was better..."Chuck's family is hard core man".  LOL

Sean trying to look cool for his woman...lol.

Robin, Quentin, Brad, Karla, and Derek...my cuzzzzins.

Me and my big bro.

Singing to some tunes that were bringing back memories.

We got bored of the beach so we moved our party down to the dock.

Having a pow wow around the quad.

As the light from the morning sun was on the horizon, 2 bright stars appeared in the sky, just 2.  We figured it was Granny and Grandpa telling us it was time to get our butts to bed so we did.  :)

Selkirk Family Reunion

The first weekend that we were here visiting in Manitoba we attended a family reunion for my mom's family, The Selkirks.  The weather was great, the food was tasty and the company was entertaining.

Eva, Me, Mom, Dad, Emmy, Ryan, Alaina, Tracy, Braden and Wesley.

Emmy and the girls.

The Selkirk siblings, Geordie, Shirley and Johnny.

Saturday night Potluck Dinner...the hall was full!

The oldest and the youngest of the Selkirk family.  Uncle Johnny 80 years and Alaina 1 month.

Meeting Baby Alaina

This little bundle of joy was the main reason that we were counting down the sleeps until our visit to MB!

First snuggles with my niece.  I just wanted to squeeze her!

Eva testing out the baby seat.

Emmy trying out the baby toys.

Eva pointing out Alaina's selkirk chin...lol

Emmy super happy to meet her new cousin.

Me and my sister with our girls...I love this one.

Oh, and this one too!

The proud daddy.
